No Longer Accepting Fluoroquinolone Cases

Floxin Lawsuits: Peripheral Neuropathy

Commonly asked questions about Floxin (ofloxacin):

What Is Floxin?

Floxin (ofloxacin) is a discontinued fluoroquinolone antibiotic produced and distributed by Johnson & Johnson.

The drug was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 1990. Since being discontinued, the drug is manufactured by several different companies in generic forms. Unfortunately, it has been linked to serious health complications.

Studies dating back to 2004 have found drugs containing fluoroquinolone to increase the risk of nerve damage, as well as other complications.

What Are Complications Of Floxin?

In August 2014, the medical journal Neurology published a study that found antibiotics that contain fluoroquinolone to double the risk of developing peripheral neuropathy.

Lawsuits are being filed on behalf of patients who have suffered complications from taking this dangerous drug. If you or a loved on has experienced negative side-effects from taking this drug, you may have a legal claim against the drug manufacturer. Settlements are expected to be substantial.

Does Floxin Cause Peripheral Neuropathy?

The FDA released a warning to all patients and announced that nerve damage potentially caused by fluoroquinolones may occur soon after these drugs are taken and may be permanent.

Symptoms include:

  • pain
  • burning
  • tingling
  • numbness
  • weakness
  • change in sensation to light touch, pain or temperature, or the sense of body position.

Patients using fluoroquinolones who develop any symptoms of peripheral neuropathy should tell their health care professionals right away before these effects progress.
