The Weirdest National Holidays of 2016
As Americans, we are all quite familiar with many of the most popular holidays in the United States, such as Halloween, Valentine’s Day, and even Sweetest Day, however, many of us are missing out on golden opportunities to celebrate some of the lesser known, stranger holidays on the US calendar! Our Drug Lawsuit Source Weirdest National Holidays of 2016 hopes to shed some light on some of the most profound, unusual holidays that actually exist!
One of the holidays included in the infographic is More Herbs Less Salt Day, a day that reminds us to make healthy choices in the kitchen. Participants in this holiday are encouraged to use herbs in their meal preparation in place of salt. Table salt is often used liberally in home cooking, and too much sodium can have negative impacts on overall health. You may have heard that excessive salt can lead to high blood pressure, known as hypertension, but this is not the only danger. Organs such as the kidneys, blood vessels, heart, and brain are all negatively affected by too much sodium. So, when August 29th rolls around this year, we hope you try some thyme or rosemary in that casserole instead of salt! (But it wouldn’t hurt to start trying it now, either!)
